Hospitality Vitae Logo Design

Probably the best part of designing a logo is learning the meaning behind the image. While working with Leticia Taveres, founder of the bilingual hotelier blog Hospitality Vitae, I discovered a new-found appreciation for pineapples. Little did I know that pineapples were much more than their juicy flavor and beautiful color. They represent a whole world of hospitality!

Dating from the fifteenth century, pineapples were seen as a symbol of generosity since they were found only in tropical climates, making them such a rare find. During the Revolutionary War, pineapples were used as a peacemaker symbol between Britain and the colonies. From then on, you can see the pineapple used in logos pertaining to the hospitality industry. Just take a look at Williams Sonoma, a leader in home and kitchen-ware.

I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to create this beautiful logo for Leticia!
